Content Guidelines
General Guidelines
TxMuslimHub helps people across Texas discover trusted Muslim-owned, halal-friendly, and community-serving businesses, organizations, and services. Our goal is to keep the platform useful, respectful, accurate, and welcoming for everyone — including customers, business owners, masjids, nonprofits, community organizations, and service providers.
These Content Guidelines explain what kind of content belongs on TxMuslimHub and what may be edited, limited, hidden, or removed. By posting reviews, photos, business information, messages, questions, answers, or other content, you agree to contribute honestly, respectfully, and in a way that helps the wider community make informed decisions.
Relevance: Please keep your contributions directly related to the business, organization, service, product, listing, or experience being discussed. Reviews, comments, photos, and questions should help others understand what to expect from that business or community resource. Content may be removed or limited if it is mainly about unrelated political opinions, personal disputes, rumors, employment issues, private community conflicts, or matters that do not reflect a real customer, visitor, or service experience.
Respectful Conduct: TxMuslimHub is built on community trust. We do not allow threats, harassment, bullying, intimidation, hate speech, slurs, religious mockery, ethnic attacks, discriminatory language, or content intended to shame, target, or humiliate another person or group. Strong opinions and honest criticism are allowed. Personal attacks, insults, and abusive behavior are not.
Honesty and Accuracy: Your content should reflect what you genuinely know or personally experienced. Do not exaggerate, invent details, spread rumors, impersonate someone else, or post misleading information about a business, masjid, professional, event, product, service, or organization. If something is your opinion, present it as an opinion. If you are unsure about a fact, make that clear instead of presenting it as verified information.
Conflicts of Interest: Reviews and ratings should be fair, independent, and based on genuine experience. You should not review your own business, your employer, a close family member’s business, a competitor, or any listing where you have a personal, professional, or financial interest that could influence your opinion. Business owners, employees, and representatives should not create fake reviews, pressure customers to leave positive reviews, reward people for reviews, or ask others to post negative content about competitors.
Privacy: Do not post private information about other people. This includes personal phone numbers, home addresses, private email addresses, private messages, medical details, financial information, immigration status, family matters, or other sensitive personal information. Please be especially careful when posting content involving children, students, patients, worshippers, staff members, or people attending religious, family, or community events. Do not upload close-up photos or videos of others in private or sensitive settings without permission.
Promotional Content: TxMuslimHub is a community directory and trusted local resource, not a place for spam. Users should not post repeated advertisements, sales pitches, referral links, keyword-stuffed comments, unrelated links, misleading promotions, or promotional content disguised as reviews. Business owners may describe their services
accurately on their own business profile. However, reviews, comments, questions, answers, and messages should not be used to flood the platform with advertising or commercial noise.
Original Content: Only post content that you created or have permission to use. Do not copy business descriptions, photos, videos, menus, logos, reviews, or other materials from another website, social media page, competitor, or user unless you have the legal right to share them. Reviews should be written in your own words and based on your own
experience. Do not use templates, automated tools, or AI-generated content to create fake, exaggerated, misleading, or non-experiential reviews.
Additinal Guidelines
Reviews help the Texas Muslim community make better decisions. A strong review is honest, specific, balanced, and based on a real experience.
Firsthand Experience: Write about your own direct experience with the business, masjid, restaurant, school, professional, nonprofit, service provider, or organization. Do not review based only on rumors, screenshots, news posts, social media debates, or what someone else told you.Helpful reviews often include specific details such as service quality, communication, professionalism, cleanliness, pricing transparency, timeliness, food quality, family-friendliness, accessibility, parking, atmosphere, or overall experience.
Be Fair and Specific: You may share positive or negative feedback, but it should be clear and useful. Instead of writing only “terrible service,” explain what happened. Instead of writing only “best place ever,” explain what made the experience excellent. Content that contains broad accusations, insults, extreme claims, or dramatic language without helpful detail may be limited or removed.
Accuracy Matters: Do not misrepresent your experience. If a business made a mistake, describe the issue accurately. If the business later resolved the problem, you may include that update as well. TxMuslimHub does not take sides in private factual disputes, but reviewers are expected to stand behind what they post.
No Review Extortion: Reviews should help the broader community, not be used as leverage. Do not threaten to post a negative review unless a business gives you money, discounts, refunds, free services, special treatment, or any other benefit. Do not offer to remove, edit, or improve a review in exchange for payment, favors, compensation, or personal advantage.
Review Updates: If you have a new experience with the same business or organization, you may update your review to reflect what changed. Review updates should add new information, not repeatedly repost the same complaint or praise.
Accurate Business Information: Business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, hours, categories, descriptions, and service areas should be accurate, current, and not misleading. Do not add false addresses, fake phone numbers, misleading service areas, keyword-stuffed business names, unrelated categories, or information intended to
manipulate search results.
Appropriate Categories: Choose categories that accurately describe the business, organization, or service. For example, restaurants, coffee shops, halal grocery stores, masjids, education, health and medical services, home services, legal services, real estate, professional services, shopping, and Umrah or Hajj travel should be listed only when they genuinely reflect what the business provides. Using unrelated categories to gain visibility may result in edits, rejection, orremoval.
Muslim-Owned and Halal-Friendly Claims: If a listing describes itself as Muslim-owned, halal-friendly, halal-certified, Islamic, Shariah-compliant, or community-based, that claim should be truthful, clear, and not misleading. Businesses should not use religious or community language in a way that creates false trust, exaggerates credibility, or misrepresents the nature of their products, ownership, services, or standards.
Claimed Business Profiles: Business owners may claim and manage their profiles to keep information accurate, respond to reviews, upload photos, and communicate with users. Claiming a business profile does not give a business the right to remove honest reviews simply because they are negative or uncomfortable. Reviews may be reviewed under these guidelines, but disagreement alone is not a reason for removal.
Duplicate or Fake Listings: Do not create duplicate listings, fake businesses, fake masjid profiles, fake service providers, misleading organizations, or listings created mainly to redirect traffic elsewhere. TxMuslimHub may merge, edit, reject, or remove duplicate, suspicious, or inaccurate listings.
Photos and videos should help users understand the business, location, product, service, or experience.
Keep It Useful: Good photos may show storefronts, entrances, dining areas, menus, products, facilities, parking, signage, event spaces, waiting areas, or other details that help people know what to expect. Photos or videos may be removed if they are unrelated, confusing, heavily edited, misleading, low-value, or relevant only to a private dispute.
Keep It Respectful: Do not post images intended to embarrass, attack, mock, expose, or harass others. Avoid close-up photos or videos of customers, worshippers, children, patients, students, staff, or private individuals unless you have permission.
No Inappropriate Imagery: Do not upload violent, sexually explicit, hateful, graphic, illegal, disturbing, or discriminatory images. Content involving nudity, drug use, threats, harassment, or abusive behavior is not allowed.
Business Photos: Businesses may upload photos that accurately represent their products, services, team, location, and atmosphere. Photos should not be stolen, deceptive, overly manipulated, or presented in a way that misleads users.
TxMuslimHub may allow users and businesses to communicate through profiles, messages, reviews, questions, answers, and other community features. These tools should be used responsibly and respectfully.
User Profiles: User profiles should support trust and accountability. Do not use your profile to impersonate someone, attack a business, promote unrelated services, spread hate, manipulate reviews, or mislead the community. Anonymous or incomplete profiles that repeatedly post fake, abusive, or harmful content may be reviewed more strictly.
User Messaging: Do not use messages to harass, threaten, pressure, spam, insult, or repeatedly contact someone who does not wish to engage. User accounts should be used for personal and community purposes, not mass marketing, lead generation, scams, or unsolicited promotions.
Business Messaging: Businesses should use messaging to answer questions, resolve concerns, and communicate professionally. Do not use messages to pressure users into changing reviews, offer incentives for positive ratings, threaten reviewers, attack competitors, or send repeated promotional messages.
Questions and Answers: Questions should be useful to other users. Ask clear and relevant questions about services, hours, halal options, pricing, appointments, accessibility, parking, family accommodations, prayer space, delivery, booking, or other practical details. Do not ask loaded questions, make accusations disguised as questions, or use Q&A areas to start arguments or spread rumors.
Religious and Community-Sensitive Content: Rather than a relevant user experience may be limited or removed. Because TxMuslimHub serves Muslim communities across Texas, content related to religion, masjids, scholars, Islamic schools, charities, halal claims, family services, and community events should be handled with extra care.
Respect for Religious Spaces: When reviewing or posting about masjids, Islamic schools, scholars, religious programs, or community organizations, keep your content respectful, relevant, and constructive. Constructive feedback is allowed. Sectarian insults, mockery, takfir, religious harassment, inflammatory accusations, or attacks on worshippers or community groups are not allowed.
Halal and Religious Claims: If you discuss halal status, certification, prayer space, Islamic environment, religious compliance, or community standards, be accurate and specific. Do not make serious claims unless you have reliable firsthand knowledge or a clear basis for what you are saying. Avoid using religious language to shame, pressure, or attack others.
Community Disputes: TxMuslimHub is not the place to settle personal, organizational, political, sectarian, marital, financial, or leadership disputes. Content focused mainly on internal conflict.
Prohibited Content: TxMuslimHub may remove, limit, or restrict content that includes:
● Fake reviews, fake listings, fake accounts, or impersonation
● Harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or discriminatory attacks
● Private personal information or sensitive details about others

Enforcement: TxMuslimHub may review, edit, limit, hide, reject, or remove content that violates these guidelines or harms the trust, safety, accuracy, or usefulness of the platform. We may also restrict accounts, suspend access, remove fake listings, reject business claims, merge duplicate listings, or take other appropriate action when content or behavior appears abusive, deceptive, unsafe, unlawful, or harmful to the community. These guidelines may be updated as TxMuslimHub grows, new features are added, and community needs change.
Reporting Content: If you see a review, listing, photo, message, profile, question, answer, or other content that appears inaccurate, abusive, fake, private, discriminatory, misleading, or harmful, please contact the TxMuslimHub team. When reporting content, include clear details so the team can review the issue fairly and take appropriate action.
